Does an adjustable carafe fit every coffee maker?

No. Inserts change the listed height configuration; they do not establish a match for every brewer, lid contact or base.

Can a 14-cup pot replace a 12-cup pot?

Only if the exact product and brewer specifications establish fit. Cup capacity alone is not a compatibility check.

Is a French press beaker the same as a drip carafe?

No. A beaker fits a French press frame and plunger. A drip carafe must match the brewer’s base, height and lid arrangement.
